Meet Marisa
Marisa Marchok (Grzeszkowiak), originally from Schaumburg, Illinois, began her yoga journey when she was seventeen years old. She had been dancing since the age of two, and figured the strength and flexibility she had developed through dance would make yoga a piece of cake. When she stepped into the hot yoga room, her initial reaction was to turn around and go home. It was hot, humid, and the poses she was guided into were shockingly difficult. By the end of class, her egotistic dancer thoughts were humbled, and to her surprise, she felt an intense desire to return to yoga and continue her journey.

When Marisa attended Western Michigan University to earn her BA in Dance, her yoga practice helped tremendously with the mental and physical stress of her major. The physical practice aided her body during injury, and helped maintain her overall strength and flexibility. The mental and spiritual practice of yoga kept her mind healthy when dealing with rejection, body image comparison, and general collegiate academic stress. By her senior year of college, Marisa knew that she wanted to continue her education with yoga, and share the benefits with others.

Marisa earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification through TriBalance Yoga School, a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, and has been teaching since 2017. In addition to teaching yoga, Marisa also teaches barre fitness and holds her Group Fitness Instructor Certification through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America.
